# tp login

> Authenticate the CLI against a TunePlane deployment.

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark-dimmed"}}
tp login --server https://tuneplane.your-company.com
```

Opens a browser, and remembers the server afterwards so later logins need no `--server`.

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark-dimmed"}}
tp login                  # the remembered server, browser flow
tp login --device-flow    # a device code, for SSH or a machine with no browser
tp login --token <TOKEN>  # non-interactive, for CI
```

Credentials are written to `~/.tuneplane/` with mode 0600. `TUNEPLANE_SERVER` supplies the
address when nothing is remembered.

The browser flow is OAuth with PKCE. On a deployment configured for OIDC it redirects to single
sign-on. `--no-browser` behaves like `--device-flow`.

Console sign-in. The same page is used when tp login opens a browser.

## Check it worked

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark-dimmed"}}
tp status
```

Prints your account, your quota and the profiles you may use. Then
[`tp logout`](https://docs.tuneplane.ai/en/cli/logout) when you are done on a shared machine.

## `tp login`

Log in to TunePlane

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark-dimmed"}}
