# tp validate

> Validate an experiment config

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark-dimmed"}}
tp validate my-grpo
```

Checks the experiment's config against its method declaration — types, ranges, batch-size
divisibility, and whether every key you set actually exists. Runs entirely on your machine and
touches no cluster.

Run it before every submit. A typo caught here costs four seconds; the same typo caught after
dispatch costs a queue wait and an allocation.

[`tp submit`](https://docs.tuneplane.ai/en/cli/submit) runs this automatically unless you pass `--no-validate`.

```
